Each tutoring session typically lasts 60 minutes, which is the ideal amount of time for students to stay focused while making academic progress. This duration allows us to follow a proven structure:
• First 5–10 minutes: A quick check-in and review of previously covered material to reinforce retention and identify lingering questions.
• Next 35–40 minutes: Focused instruction on new topics using personalized strategies that match your child’s learning style, this may include direct teaching, guided practice, or hands-on problem-solving.
• Final 10–15 minutes: Practice, feedback, and a review of key takeaways, followed by assigning homework or practice tasks to reinforce skills between sessions.
Shorter 45-minute sessions are available for younger students (K–2) or learners with shorter attention spans, while 90-minute sessions are recommended for test prep (SAT, ACT, STAAR), project-based tutoring, or students needing more intensive support in multiple subjects.
Our tutors hold a variety of professional qualifications based on subject and age level:
• State Teaching Certifications (for K–12 academic support)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degrees in education or specific subject areas (e.g. mathematics, English, biology)
• Specialized Training in working with students with ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences
• Test Prep Certifications and proven experience in SAT, ACT, and STAAR exam instruction.
All tutors are background-checked and undergo training in personalized, one-on-one instruction before working with students.
We understand that schedules change, but we do ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session.
• Cancellations made with 24+ hours notice can be rescheduled at no cost.
• Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may result in a 50% charge to compensate the tutor’s reserved time.
• No-shows (without notice) are typically charged in full.
This policy ensures fairness for our tutors and helps us provide flexible scheduling for all families.
We keep parents fully informed every step of the way:
• After each session, tutors provide a brief progress summary and what was covered
• Tutors track academic goals (like improving a math grade from C to A) and share updates regularly
• Every 4–6 weeks, families receive a more detailed progress report with clear benchmarks, improvements, and next steps
• We also encourage direct communication between tutor and parent for feedback, adjustments, or new goals
In many cases, you’ll begin to see improvements in homework quality, test scores, and student confidence within just a few weeks.
